I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the first year Building Technology and Building Surveying students for their surprise birthday party during BT & BS night on 31st Dec 2011. Thanks for the lovely birthday gifts as well.
Maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had, and what you've learned from them, and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated
Well, birthdays are simply emblematic of how another year has departed by and how little we've developed. No matter how desperate we are that sooner or later a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it's not to be, that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Unavoidably, irreversibly; happy birthday? No such thing
